Ragman Collective — Terms of Sale for Buyers

Effective from January 2025. Ragman Collective, Jedburgh, TD8 6EE. enquiries@ragmancollective.com

1. Who We Are

Ragman Collective is a pre-loved consignment clothing business operated from Jedburgh, Scotland. We act as agent on behalf of individual consignors to sell second-hand clothing and accessories.

Contact us: enquiries@ragmancollective.com

2. These Terms

These Terms of Sale govern every purchase you make through ragmancollective.com. By completing a purchase you agree to be bound by them. We may update these terms from time to time — the version in force at the time you place your order applies to that order.

Note: These terms do not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

3. Pre-Loved Goods — Condition & Description

All items sold through Ragman Collective are second-hand and pre-owned. We photograph and describe every item carefully, noting condition in each listing. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. For pre-loved items, satisfactory quality is assessed in light of the item's age, prior use, and the condition stated in the listing — not the standard of a new item.

Important: If an item arrives materially different from its description, you are entitled to a full remedy. Please contact us within 14 days of receipt.

4. Pricing & Payment

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of any applicable VAT. Delivery costs are shown separately at checkout before you confirm your order. We accept all major debit and credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay. Payment is taken in full at the point of order and all transactions are processed securely by Shopify Payments. The price you pay is the price confirmed at checkout — we will never charge more.

5. Your Order & Our Contract

Placing an order is an offer to buy. Our contract with you is formed when we send you an order confirmation email and dispatch your item. We reserve the right to decline any order if, for example, an item is found to be damaged during packing or a pricing error is identified. If we cannot fulfil your order we will tell you promptly and issue a full refund within 5 working days. As we operate on a consignment basis, all items are one-of-a-kind and we cannot offer substitutions.

6. Delivery

We dispatch UK orders within 1–2 working days of payment clearing. Estimated UK delivery is 2–5 working days after dispatch. You will receive tracking information by email as soon as your order is on its way. International delivery is available to a range of countries. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.

Note: We are not liable for carrier delays but will always work to resolve issues promptly.

7. Your Right to Cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel your order without giving a reason within 14 days of receiving your item. To exercise this right, notify us in writing at enquiries@ragmancollective.com before the 14-day period expires. You then have a further 14 days to return the item.

Returns condition: Items must be returned unworn, unaltered and with any original tags or packaging included where possible.

Refund timeline: We will issue your refund within 14 days of receiving the returned item, using the same payment method. Return postage costs are your responsibility unless the item is faulty or not as described.

8. Faulty or Incorrectly Described Items

If an item arrives faulty, damaged, or materially different from its listing description, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply in full:

Within 30 days of receipt: You are entitled to a full refund.

30 days to 6 months: You are entitled to a repair or replacement.

To claim: Contact enquiries@ragmancollective.com with a description and photographs. We will arrange return postage at our cost.

9. Our Liability to You

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking our contract with you or our failing to use reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. We are not liable for unforeseeable losses, business losses (we sell to consumers only), or losses caused by events entirely outside our control.

10. Governing Law & Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. If you live in Scotland, disputes may be brought in the Scottish courts. If you live in England or Wales, in the English courts. If you live in Northern Ireland, in the Northern Irish or English courts.

Please contact us first at enquiries@ragmancollective.com — we will always try to resolve issues quickly and fairly. Your statutory rights as a UK consumer are not affected by these terms.

Ragman Collective — Consignor Terms & Conditions

Effective from January 2025. Ragman Collective, Jedburgh, TD8 6EE. enquiries@ragmancollective.com

1. Who We Are & How to Contact Us

We are Ragman Collective. To contact us please email enquiries@ragmancollective.com. These terms govern the relationship between you (the consignor) and Ragman Collective when you use our service to sell your unwanted clothing and accessories.

2. Accepting These Terms

By sending items to us you confirm that you accept these Terms and authorise Ragman Collective to act as your agent to sell your items on our store and through third-party marketplaces, and/or to donate them to our charity partners. The service is for your personal, non-commercial use only.

3. Sending Items — What We Accept

We accept clean, freshly laundered clothing and accessories in good condition. Please send paired items together. Accepted categories include clothing, shoes and accessories for women, men, children and babies. By sending items you confirm they are clean, authentic, and in the condition described.

We do not accept: Electrical items (unless brand new and sealed); jewellery or watches (unless agreed in advance); homeware or bric-a-brac (unless agreed in advance); or counterfeit items.

Items that fail QC: Will be donated to our charity partners or sent for responsible recycling.

4. Collections & Drop-Offs

We run 4–5 collection meets per year at multiple locations around Edinburgh. Drop-offs are also available at our studio in Jedburgh and near South Queensferry when capacity allows. Doorstep collections are available in rare circumstances only — please enquire.

To book: Email enquiries@ragmancollective.com. Full details in our Collections Policy.

5. Quality Control & Processing

All items receive an initial sort on arrival. Items that pass quality control are photographed, priced and listed. Items that do not pass are donated to our charity partners or sent for responsible recycling. We offer a basic repair service (buttons, seams, zips) where it is cost-effective for you. We reserve the right to decline any item at our sole discretion.

6. Pricing & Listings

We suggest prices based on comparable items and will share a guide price range with you before items go live. You have 3 days to query pricing — after that items are approved automatically. We reserve the right to adjust listing prices, offer discounts, and accept offers on your behalf in order to sell your items.

Unsold items: After approximately 4 months, unsold items will be reduced further. After 6 months any remaining items go to our charity partners (seasonal items may be carried up to 12 months).

7. Fees & Commission

Every listed item is subject to a £1.00 listing fee, deducted from your first month's payment. On sale, a 40% commission is taken from sale proceeds (minimum £3.50), plus a £0.50 postage and packaging charge. Third-party transaction costs and any applicable VAT are deducted before commission is calculated.

Fee changes: We reserve the right to change our fees in future, communicated in advance.

Tax: You are responsible for any tax liability on income received from us. We cannot sell on behalf of VAT-registered businesses.

8. Payments

Payments are made around the 7th of each month for all completed sales from the previous calendar month, directly to your bank account. A minimum balance of £5.00 is required — amounts below this roll over to the following month.

Sale completion: A sale is classed as complete once the buyer's 14-day return period has passed. Items sold at the start of the month may not complete until around the 20th.

Charity donations: Quarterly payments to charity partners — January, April, July, October — with no additional fee.

9. Returns

We offer buyers a 14-day return period in accordance with consumer law. If an item is returned, the sale is reversed and no payment is made for that item. We will then either relist the item or, depending on its condition and reason for return, donate it to our charity partners.

10. Authenticity & Counterfeit Goods

We take the sale of counterfeit goods extremely seriously. If we identify an item as a high-risk brand we will ask you to confirm authenticity and may request proof of purchase, or refer items to a specialist authentication service (costs agreed in advance). We reserve the right to refuse to list any item we are not satisfied is genuine.

11. Your Warranty & Liability

By sending items you warrant that you are the legal owner (or have authority to sell); you can transfer full ownership free of any third-party claims; the items are authentic; and you are not selling as part of a VAT-registered business. You agree to notify us immediately if your VAT registration status changes.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Disputes may be raised in the Scottish courts or, if you are based in England or Wales, in the English courts. Questions or complaints: enquiries@ragmancollective.com.
