Frequently Asked Questions
Below you will find the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions.
What can I send?
Pretty much any clothing — clean, freshly laundered and un-stained. If items come in pairs please send both. We are not brand snobs but bear in mind that very low-value items may be bundled together to make them viable.
We cannot take electrical items unless brand new and sealed. For jewellery, watches or household items please ask ahead of time.
How do I get my items to you?
Email us at enquiries@ragmancollective.com to arrange. We run collection meets through the year at locations around Edinburgh, and also take items at the studio in Jedburgh. A drop-off point near South Queensferry is available when there is capacity.
What happens after you receive my items?
Everything gets an initial sort to check for damage, staining and saleability. Anything that passes goes into the studio for photography and listing. We will send you a price list showing the range we hope to achieve and review pricing regularly to keep things moving.
How long until my items are listed?
We work hard to keep the gap from collection to listing as short as possible. Lead times can vary — email us for a current estimate.
How long do things take to sell?
Some pieces sell the day they land, others take a little longer depending on season and demand. We always price competitively and review regularly. After 4 months items are reduced further; after 6 months anything remaining goes to our charity partners.
When will I get paid?
Payments go out around the 7th of each month for the previous calendar month, straight to your bank. We only release payment once the 14-day return window has closed on each sale.
What if my items do not sell?
After 6 months any unsold items go to our charity partners or responsible recycling. We can arrange return of unsold items if you prefer — charges apply.
Can you repair items?
We handle basic repairs in house — buttons, seams, zips. For anything more involved we work with a local seamstress and can price individually. We will only repair if it makes financial sense for you after costs.
What about counterfeit goods?
We take this very seriously. We may ask for proof of purchase on designer items or send pieces to an authentication service (costs agreed in advance). We reserve the right to refuse anything we are not confident in — our reputation depends on it.
Where do you operate?
Currently Edinburgh and the Lothians, with occasional runs along the M8 to Glasgow. We are actively working on expansion — if you have a large amount or can rally a few friends together, get in touch and we may be able to find a solution.
